XFX 8800gts 320gb worth $100?

I'm also curious why it's so expensive at newegg...like $280.

I picked it up for $100..good deal?

Someone I know is selling it to me. It's about 6 months old but it's still under warranty for 1 1/2 years (+/-). He's very anal about hardware so he has taken care of it.

Think that's a good deal?

Great deal.

Buy it, then send it back under warranty if you really want a new one, will still only cost about 120, tops.

Still, either way, I'd buy it.

This card is $289.99 at Newegg..no idea why but it is.

Newegg.com - XFX PVT80GGHD4 GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics

^ Crazy high imo and the EVGA version is only $115 after a rebate.

I have heard that the XFX version is much faster than most but $289.99...that's just crazy imo.

But I don't get it...I can't find this card for less than Neweggs price.

Good price for a great card. The cheapest at newegg right now is an MSI for $120 after rebate.

Well it's on the way to my home. $105 total.

Im using a 7600gt now so this should be a nice jump right? And it should play Oblivion well also right?

Yes that's a substantial jump, so long as the rest of your system is in line (ie, you're not using a Pentium 4 with it or something). I upgraded from a 7800gtx and the difference was huge.

As for black box, if you ARE going to tweak the unlocked multiplier, get it, otherwise look a little up or down and you may get the same speed cheaper, or a faster speed (not overclocking) at only a little above.

Yeah I'm thinking I might go with the 5600+x2 over the 5000+x2 BBE.

I'm not crazy about overclocking or tweaking....

Hey guys let me ask you this.

As of Wednesday I'll have my 8800gts. Right now I have a 3800+ single core but Frys is selling the 4800+ x2 for $59.

Do you think that cpu would do well with newer games or will it still hold me back?
