YouPax Drivers Confusion - No info about, so many versions, install steps missing, etc
Hey guys... I´m really lost here...
I´ve been searching the youpax forum and here too ( INFO THREAD), looking for several simple questions only, to find out that there is no basic information about
for starters:
1) what does the drivers REALLY DO?
It is only a modified version of the official ones from X-Fi to make them work on Audigy 1 to 4??
Do they have any kind of optimization? like ... quality? performance? stability? new features?
are they hacked versions?
so what are the details about them????
a simple feature list
2) why there are so many "releases"? what do each of them do?
I´ve seen AX drivers, XFI drivers, Driver suites, updates that I should copy onto other drivers, single apps, etc...
This is really very very confusing.. I don´t know were to start!
3) Install steps??? Guides?
I´ve found a few of them.. like.. how to install the audigy4 soft (here in the forum) or how to install the youpax AX latest driver...
but.. the problem is that I think you should explain it in a simple way.. like mentioning the card models!
for example:
I have an audigy 1... what should I install first? de AX driver? the factory driver? the hacked audigy4 cd??
why don´t to mention it simply like..:
(JUST A REFERENCE I´m not saying this is the right install order..)
SBLIVE -> install hacked cd -> install driver-x -> install soft1 ->soft2
Audigy1 -> install Audigy4 hacked cd -> install driver-Ax -> install soft1 ->soft2
Audigy2
Audigy4
etc...
Right now I have an AUDIGY1 and I don´t know were to start or why to choose the modified drivers for starters :P
PLEASE HELP!!
cheers!

Hi dude,
I hope you will let me ask a question here, too.
I just want to understand the difference between the Youpax X-Fi DriverSuite (I installed 2008 and I am happy with it) and the Youpax X-Fi V4.06!?

Hi sorry if there a big miss right now. I will strighting up soon right now I'm in middle of moving and have dialup connection at my currect house. At my new house in the soo I have wide range of connection for highspeed . You want get the Audigy series 2008 suite thats all you need it has updated drivers. And Audigy AX is for audigy cards. XFI stuff is for XFI cards. Thats why I split two driffter sets. D
For audigy this most stable set for now YouP-PAX-AX-V4.07A.rar - FileFront.com if you want suite is YouP-PAX_Audigy_Series_20e.rar - FileFront.com thats same drivers as before but with updated drivers with software.

hmm I´ve already installed the 4.09a (from your forum)
The drivers seems to work... but.. is there any problem reported?
besides that.. I don´t have any soft working for them, like.. Creative sorround mixer or speaker calibrator, etc.
So do I have to install that YouP-PAX_Audigy_Series_20e.rar to get the soft I need?
Is there a way to install only the soft without messing with this new version of drivers?
anyway.... good luck with your moving.. and please clarify later all those 1), 2) and 3) questions.. because right now is reaaaally confusing to get a clear idea of what do these drivers do, figure out which release to choose, and what is THE RIGHT WAY to install them...
unless anyone else could answer all those questions in the first post.
cheers!

Thanks for your replies...
I hope you could post the rest of the info whenever you can do it.
Right now, I`m getting a problem, the Sorround left channel is making no sound at all
and is not a problem from speakers or my amplifier, because I have 2 consoles connected and the sound goes perfect through all channels.
The problem started with this driver, and I can`t check it without the EQUALIZER.
Tried your SPKCAL and it works fine, but the sound from SORROUND LEFT channel isn`t working neither.
Tried resetting everything in the driver to default, control panel configs, volumes, etc....
HELP!

The 4.09's cause BSOD on install on my other machine (Audigy4), though earlier revisions of the driver work a treat.

I have 4.09a installed on my Audigy2 was that a good move (XP) lol? First problem I've noticed is that I can only see Creative ASIO, it seems to be only rated as 16-bit? have I just downgraded via software lol? Which version is recommended for Audigy2 Plat? Thanks for all your work!

Robert,
Got a quick question for you. I recently bought a SB0350 Audigy 2 card on eBay. I have a Audigy 2 installation cd, but it says this card is not recognized. The SB0350 should be a Audigy 2 ZS, bu the ZS emblem on the card is absent, not there. I have also tried downloading the Audigy 2 ZS iso installation CD, and that also gave me the message that the card is not recognized. Same for the Gateway driver CD you have. I am guessing the card is a Dell OEM, but do not know since it came from eBay.
Will your YouP-PAX-Audigy_Series_20e Suite give me the ZS features? I can install drivers only from Creative, but it is only listed as an Audigy 2 and I do not get the Audigy 2 software, just the drives.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Hopefully the weather up there gets better for you soon. Been in the 60's last weekend down here in Traverse City, but I know the Soo is always a bit colder this time of year. Supposed to get a snow mix tomorrow, hope it just turns into rain.

Okay Robert, I gave them a shot. the drivers downgraded it to an Audigy 1 card, so I went back to the official Creative 09_0016 driver. I noticed none of the other software installed, does each module need to be installed separately? I may try that with the AudioHQ and Surround Mixer installed, if that will work. Or, should I try and install the Audigy4? I think I'll need some instructions if I try something like that. LOL!
Stay warm up there good buddy!
Edit:
Nevermind, I got everything working, finally! Whooo Hooo!!!!
