Updated version of Surrounder+ available

There is an updated version of Surrounder+ available for download.
The update is only to address some issues with the bundled version.

Changes from bundled version are as follows:

Fixed bug with possibly incorrect sub mode being used when surround mode is changed.
Fixed bug where 'in_n' bleeds into 'sR' under some settings.
Fixed minor issue with (unimplemented) HP presets.
Fixed issue related to 10k1 DSP code.
Removed unused output (sCenter1) on 10k1 cards.
Removed 6.1 and 7.1 presets for 10k1 cards.

For more info, see the following:
Surrounder+ bug
Surrounder+ bug (with 10k1 models)

The GUID is changed so that it will not overwrite the bundled version. Also the name is changed to Surrounder++, so that you will be able to tell which version you have loaded without much trouble.

Currently it is only available for kX version 3539, but I can compile it for some other kX versions upon request.

This version may replace the bundled version in the next kX release, so it would be good if people could use/test it to be sure that there are no other issues before I send the updated code to Eugene.
<edit>Surrounder+ in kX version 3540/3541 includes the changes from his plugin</edit>

You can download the plugin here.

Thanks for not letting these fixes get lost, Russ. Will give it a try on a SB0095.

Been trying it out in 5.1 mode and it looks/sounds good as far as I can tell. I frequently look at the sound levels into Surrounder++ via Peak6 and at my outputs via Peak4 since I have to process Surrounder's output before it goes to my analog outs.

The bass redirection doesn't work as I expected but maybe it's correct according to the design and getting masked by my oddball setup.

For the curious, I have Turtle Beach X-52 5.1 headphones (yes, there are individual drivers for each channel in the earcups) connected to the analog outs of a SB00095. The center channel and subwoofer drivers have a weird frequency response, so I try to redirect the lacking frequencies to the other drivers.

Nice work!
Thanks, Russ!

Thanks, but I only corrected some minor bugs (things most people probably would not even notice under normal use), etc. I did not change the core functionality of Surrounder+ in any way, nor add any new features, etc. My main concern with this thread, is to make sure that I did not introduce any new bugs when making the corrections, and of course if there are any bugs remaining that I may have missed, it would be good to try and fix them now as well.

As for the bass redirection stuff, I do not really use that feature since I do not have a discreet sub, so I cannot comment on how well it works, but I think (I did not create Surrounder+) it works the way it was designed to (using minimal resources (since not everyone needs it)). It is not going to be as good as using 4th order crossovers, etc, but...

BTW: I thought I should point out that because of the name change, the kX "Speaker Setup..." button will not appear in kxmixer when using this version of Surrounder+. Of course you can still access those settings in the DSP, by "tweaking" the plugin.

Note: Surrounder+ in kX version 3540/3541 includes the changes implemented in this plugin, so 3540/3541 users do not need this plugin.

Oh, now you tell me.

So if I used "register effects" option of the "effects" drop-down menu of the Kx Manager context menu) what did I just screw up?

IF Surrounder+ is Surrounder++ in 3541, then how do I get it out?

It would not have overwritten Surrounder+, it is just that you do not need this one, since 3540/3541 includes the updates.

In any case, if you look on the page where you downloaded the file, you will also find the .reg file to unregister it.
