Thanks E.
Looks good so far
Plugin compatibility appears to be the same as with 3540 (i.e 3539/3540 plugins are compatible).
BTW: The file can be found at the kX website.

That was fast - thanks
kX is really the only reason I haven't completely moved over to Linux. Well...my wife won't let me, but in my head kX is the only reason. There are many voices in my head!

The original download is still at the kX website. You may have found someone's post with all their plugins and stuff, which you may not want/need.

it has beta tags but it's compiled like a final version (ie. no debug libraries or anything like older beta versions had).

Well those other ones are just older versions. There have been compatibility differences and many bug fixes over the course of development but the SB0220 was one of the first supported so you won't encounter many problems there. The most important difference between the old versions and 3541 is that 3541 is now the only version you can get support for on the forums here.
I also have an SB0220. I'd recommend using 3541, it's what I'm using now. 3540 and 3539 had Windows XP Mixer problems, and ones before them all had the debug libraries included giving them a bit more overhead in terms of resources (I think?).
So yeah, 3541 is the latest and greatest. Use it.

Isn't it more like versions after 3538m have Vista support and better Audigy NoteBook version support, while introducing many different quirks (obviously unavoidable in development)? Some people seem to still be using 3534f for supposedly superior ASIO performance. The Developer doesn't support older versions, but he's not alone

Win98SE/WinME support was dropped after 3538h.
Win2000 support appears to have been dropped after 3539.
IIRC, initial Vista support was added in 3538L.
Unless you are using an OS that is no longer supported, you should use the latest version available (if people do not use latest version, some bugs may go unnoticed and thus not get fixed in future releases, etc).
