CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history.

The program will also wipe off all recent items from Start Run. Quite tricky though.

Everything it removes by the default setting can be disabled via options.

Very easy app to use and it's also a very highly recommended for maintanence...and it's free which makes it better.

been using it for years... great little app.
although there are some things that need fixing in Vista x64... but posting on their forums gets no answers whatsoever

- Reg cleaner detects ALL your file extensions as "unused" ... had a big mishap with that (lost all extension associations ...)
- Reg cleaner also doesn't detect as much in Vista x64 as it did in XP x86 ... uninstalling programs doesn't bring up any "useless" reg keys anymore which is a concern for cleanups
- Startup programs aren't ALL listed like they used to
