Pissed Hvaing problems installing a game on Vista

I'm kinda of a noob here, but i cant get a newer game to install, I have directx 10 on vista and I think that may be the problem. I heard there is a version called 9.0l, is that something i can download for free? Any help would be great thanks!!!1

There is not such version of DirectX 9.0l latest is 9.0c that you can download from Microsoft's site.
You can get it here : Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime

everytime I install it I get this error at the end that says:

error: pixel and vertex shaders not found.

press OK to break into Debugger, Cancel exits.


I have direct x 10 and the game was made in 2007, i have no idea what is wrong

I meant you need to install dx 9.0c. dx 10 will not be effected.

sounds like your video card does not have the shader version needed to run that particular game
