System Specs

My Xfi Extreme Music is the basic 5.1 card.So i guess it my be a selective update.

I had a message during installation that the Firmware was going to updated..If you accept Press Yes if not the driver update will not be installed.

A restart was required mid way through.

Hi,
I need some help with installation.
I'm kinda confused,
And dont know what to install. and in which order?

I just downloaded YouP-PAX_Audigy_Series_20e (YouP-PAX Audigy Series 2008 Suite) & YouP-PAX-AX-V4.09A.
And copyed the "YouP-PAX-AX-V4.09A\Drivers" folder to "YouP-PAX_Audigy_Series_20e\Drivers" Folder.
(robert said,, To updated your pax audigy series suite 2008 just copy the driver folder then paste it to your software audio section and your all set)
Is that ok?
or do I just need to install, YouP-PAX-AX-V4.09A "OR" YouP-PAX_Audigy_Series_20e.

After that I installed using setup.exe in folder YouP-PAX Audigy Series 2008 Suite.
it worked, but it dint install Applications like, surroundmixer, audioconsole. . .
Just the driver.
Then i ran {YouP-PAX Audigy Series 2008 Suite}\Audigy4\Setup.exe and installed those.
Everyting works and sounds good, but i think i dint do it properly.
Cause I also see some more folders like AudioXFi/AudioHQ/Surmixer in the YouP-PAX Audigy Series 2008 Suite.

I also cant select 6.1 speaker setup, Only 2.1/4.1/5.1/Headphones,

Which one should I use YouP-PAX_Audigy_Series_20e Or YouP-PAX-AX-V4.09A. & whats the difference?

I got a Audigy 2 Platinum, and use Windows XP With Service Pack2
Right now it recognizes my card as "SB Audigy [E880]"

I hope u guyz can help me out!
For now im off to bed, tired as a m0f0 =P (time: 05.32)

THANX!

Hi Ya You need installed the shortcut of the software pack not audigy 4 setup shortcut. Uninstalled from Device manager then reinstalled everthing or repair it's that easy to do.
If you really don't care about EQ keep them I think XFI drivers break the audigy eq not sure. Like I said I don't have fast access to internet to I move into my new house end of march. Then it take me while get my new computer then highspeed.

I tried using the 20e along with the 4.09. I went back to using the 2.32.2006.sp2 and 3.63.03d, then installed the 4.00.03 on top which works for now.

Hey all!

I'm new to the forum and I would like to start off by saying thank you to Robert and all that have contributed to the cause.

I've done a lot of research for anything related to my case but I'm hoping I can find the answer here (at the very least a strong lead to the solution).

Sound card:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum FATAL1TY CHAMPION SERIES

Operating system:
Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit)

My goal: To connect an XBOX 360 to the sound card via optical TOSLink connection with full Digital Dolby 5.1 surround sound.

Current situation: The only way I can hear any audio from my 5.1 speakers is by setting my XBOX 360 audio settings to Dolby Stereo. If I change it to Dolby Digital I experience no sound at all (just like many of the other users have mentioned abroad various forums)

What options do I have, if any, to get full Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound from my XBOX 360 to my PC speakers?

What I've learned so far: Besides Creative Labs having below-satisfactory customer service, I've learned that Windows Vista does not allow drivers to interact with the hardware directly and that any decoding (DD, DTS) is done on the software layer. Does this mean that the hardware on these high-end X-FI sound cards are not utilized?!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I really look forward to your responses.

At the moment you can try daniel_k X-Fi Vista drivers. SB X-Fi series Vista Support Pack v2.15.0004A (Decoder, WaveRT, Hw MIDI) (02/13/2008) - Windows Vista - Creative Labs

DDL encoder on the way. X-Fi Crystalizer on Audigy cards / DDL encoder on all X-Fi cards (pending release) - Windows Vista - Creative Labs

Unfortunately, Creative has removed the posts regarding Crystalizer on Audigy.

As far as the question regarding Audigy Dolby Digital Decoding, I believe daniel_k's drivers reenable it. But you need to have SP1 installed for it to work. The advantage here is that the integrated decoder has the ability to decode signals coming from the SPDIF-IN.

Do note however, the DSP was never used for decoding purposes! It was always done on the CPU.

Yes sad. Creative always have a new driver to render all hacks useless like the dell and prelude hack. I think what pisses most people are X-Fi owners like myself who bought the card which promises DTS and DD but not supported in Vista. It's S$359 down the drain for me. So whoever hacks it gets my vote.

Hello guys,

I am new in this forum and I hope that somebody could explain the difference between the X-Fi Softwaresuite (I am Xtreme Music user) and the X-Fi V4.07 for example to me?
I am using the Softwaresuite 2008 at the moment.
Thank you in advance for your help.
