Need Creative X-Fi Extreme Audio PCI-Express WinXP drivers
Hey all,
Can any of you make me an ISO image of your Creative X-Fi Extreme Audio PCI-Express sound card driver CD and send me the download link for it where you uploaded it. I am so disgusted with Creative right now with driver support for this card so if any of you can provide me with some help it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Micah

Here's a link to many install discs for Creative labs Soundcards including the X-fi Extreme Audio:
Link for Creative Labs install discs for different type Soundblasters/Audigy/X-fi
Don't know whether it's the newest, but give it a try.
Good luck!

A new X-fi driver was release a couple days ago, you may want to give the creative website a look to download it.

I am afraid that Creative Labs does not have newer driver updates for the X-fi Xtreme Audio pci-e, which is quite new. The newest driver should be on the install disc which should be included with the card when purchased.
Creative Labs has the driver for the older Xtreme audio pci (Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Pack 1.04.0078 - date: 4 oct 2007), which may not be suitable (may not install at all) for your pci-e version of the Xtreme Audio if the cards are equipped with different sound chips.
Good luck!

Hello,
Thanks Vikingod and tcman for your help. I do appreciate it. I'm sorry to say that the X-Fi Extreme Audio drivers for the PCI version don't work with the PCI-Express version. It gives me an "unsupported device" error on install.
I've lost my driver CD so I can't use the drivers from it, so right now I'm stuck until Creative posts some drivers for it on their website, or I can get a driver CD ISO image from somebody that has this card. This is a very good card.

If someone can show me how to rip a copy of the disk and create an ISO of it, I'll do it for you, though I don't have any way to bypass any DRM that may be included on the disk.

Here is a free ISO maker at:
Alcohol 52% Free Edition.
I just ordered a couple of driver CDs from Creative last week and am expecting to recieve them by Friday. You really don't need to make me an ISO image, but you could go ahead and make one and upload it just in case somebody else needs a driver CD for the Card. Your driver CD shouldn't be copyprotected.
Thanks for the offer of help.

Hey, based on what I read, can I use this app to make images of my games so I don't have to put the disks in every time I want to play it? :P

Correct, but if some one has the CD he can make .iso image of it and share it with you so you get the drivers what are stored on the cd. Same idea works for this issue too

Use X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook drivers
I had the same problem with the X-Fi PCI-e card with windows XP. I managed to get the card working by using the "X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook" drivers which you can get from the creative website.
However, you can't install the drivers using the setup.exe since since the software won't be able to detect the card. You have to install the drivers manually through device manager.
For the "newbies" reading this:
Use winzip to unzip the driver .exe contents to a temp directory. Eg c:\temp
Right click on "My Computer"
- Properties -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager
Under "Sounds, video and game controllers"
- Select the device
- Right Click and go to "properties"
- Drivers Tab -> Update Drivers
Can windows connect to windows update and search for software?
- No, not this time
What do you want the wizard to do?
- Click: Install from a list or specific location (advanced)
Please choose your search and installation options:
- Click: Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware:
- Click "Have disk"
- Go to c:\temp\Drivers\Driver\WinXP\bin
- Select t3.inf
- Hit "Open' then "OK"
Un-select "Show compatible hardware" checkbox (!!! Important !!)
Under Manufacturer select:
Creative Technology Ltd
Under Model Select:
SB Xtreme Audio Notebook
Click "Next"
Click "Finish"
Reboot your computer.
Go to control panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Audio tab
-Select "SB Xtreme Audio Notebook" as default device
- Hit "OK"
- Enjoy listening to your crappy audigy card that has been rebadged as a X-Fi Xtreme Audio.
- List the item on eBay and try to off-load it so some sucker so you can buy yourself a "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro".

the pci-e xfi isn't even an audigy - like some of the cheaper "audigy" options, it doesn't even use hardware acceleration

Well, I finally got the new driver CDs I ordered from Creative two weeks ago. I sure missed that good sounding music and sound effects form this card.
