I think its more a case of free up some resources in prodution to make room for the new 9800 gx2 etc etc.
The Ultra is the obviuos choice to get pulled as its never been hugley popular cos of its price

erformance ratio. It did come with a huge price premium.
Did I ever regret getting mine thou ?................ hell no. It came oc'd out of the box making it around 10% faster than stock ultra and has given me some great high res gaming with insane levels of AA applied.
If I were you i'd just hold on a few more weeks of you can, wait and see what the 9800 gx2 does in terms of price

erformance.
Be a bit wary of going the whole SLI route unless you've truely researched it and know the games you play are compatible and offer performance benefits.
