Tabula Rasa
let me get this straight you have to pay to buy this game on top of a monthly fee to play it, whats the point of buying the game if you need to pay a monthly fee to play the game ..... bonkers .... and yes i was interested until i found out about the monthly fee

you have to do that with WoW as well... every game you have to BUY the game first and then pay a monthly fee for....
well except Guild Wars and maybe a select few others where there is no monthly fee..
Lineage2 you can buy the game (essentially buying a cd key)... for about 20 bucks (which gives you 30 days of play time) Then pay a monthly fee of roughly 15 bucks a month... and the expansions are automatic and available at all times
WoW cost me nearly $80 for the game and the expansion.... and came with a few days of play... 15 bucks a month there again.... but if another expansion comes out.. you have to purchase it and upgrade your account to use it.
there isn't much of any MMOs that don't use a monthly payment system.....

The only MMO that doesn't require you to buy the game is EVE Online. You can download the game for free but you still have a monthly fee.

Guild wars you have to pay to get hold of, whether that's buying just a CD key or the entire game from a shop. It's better value from a shop imo because you get a poster and other nifty stuff with it
There's no monthly fee and i've got a level 12 character but i haven't played it in ages because i've just kinda gone off MMO's.
Maybe when GW2 comes out i'll buy that, the idea of a better MMO than WoW with no monthly fee with the same continuous world sounds great to me

even WoW you don't technically have to buy the game if you use a 10 day trial then buy a gamecard. I asked blizzard because I had the $2 14-day trial and the gamecard didnt work. This is done because MMOs have shitloads of users on for long long long periods of times and constant upgrades and changes (for most of them). In addition, the games are usually like crack so why not charge people!

I don't know how much this game has changed since the beta, but I didn't think it was worth the money then. I definitely don't think it's worth the monthly fee.

I've played Tabula Rasa... but, I don't think it's that fun to play alone -- not like WoW, anyway. I really like the violence, felt like a ton more action than WoW; what brought it down though, is that the action couldn't be channeled to other players.
The lack of a real PvP system, I'd say, is one of the only reasons I didn't truly continue to play Tabula Rasa solo. I still pay for it just to play with some of my irl friends while we're doing nothing better, but aside from that, it sits as dead weight on my hard drive, hoping for a PvP system. lol
