ATI=Canada>Nvidia=USA?

wow over the last few yrs we heard NVIDIA ALL THE WAY, ATI SUCKS COCK etc., funny how they said that and now they gettin their asses whuped by canadians lol... i hate canada but im from canada. I live like an hr away from the HQ. Many americans underestimated us as usual now look what happening.... nvidia losing their royalty. but id still rather be an american lol. Catalyst driver which were made fun of now are better also.

btw i support the war and america 101% even though i canadian, i dont like canada as i said before

I believe we're a pro-hardware forum around here more than any one brand....ATI just happens to be the best at what they do right now.

Every time I see a thread like this I have to wonder if people remeber the recent past at all. I seem to remeber a time when ATI posted a driver once a year and usually created more bugs then it fixed. Remeber the Rage vid card releases and driver quality? Anyone remeber the launch of the 8500? I sure do, I was one of the first to get one. Remeber the Q3 cheats? Have you all forgotten? Don't get me wrong though, I have a huge amount of respect for ATI now. After a few rocky months the 8500 driver team poured out some pure gold driver releases and as a whole that piece of hardware matured very well. They have also managed to produce a killer new vid card ala the 9700 pro and constantly produce very good drivers now a days. I guess what I'm trying to say is he who is king today in the vid card field might be bringing up the rear one or two years from now. Anyone remeber 3dfx, they were number one for a while. So was Nvidia. Ati will get their time, but soon someone else will take the crown. Who knows, in a year we might all be buying Bit Boys vid cards and you'll be sure to see Bit Boys Rulez threads all around the hardware forums.

You know, I never understood all this "I hate Canada" stuff.

Personally, I don't care if ATI made their Radeon's in Iraq, I'd still own one over an Nvidia card.

ATI wouldn't be the company it is today without Nvida or SIS or Matrox...competition is what keeps this ball rolling and the quality high, I predict a new card from Nvida that is just as good and cheaper than the 9700 , and a hell of alot cheaper too, that is the only way that Nvida can compete unless the continue to get soldered to mobos all over the place. I won't buy a movo with Nvida soldered to it...but I still have my old TNT2, it was a damn good card and nearly indistructible...Any body know anything about the Xabre cards?
