anyone still play starcraft?
I hear this game is STILL huge in asia, and I still profess to firing it up the odd time. Still plays great and is really putting me in the mood for starcraft 2 which I hope they dont mess up.
Unfortunately the original starcraft is limited to 640x480 which seriously ruins it now for me, but I wish we had more RTS games like this. I haven't played a really good RTS game in a long time.

On occasion, maybe once every month or two.
I'm a purist, I stay away from money maps, and am quite sick of Lost Temple, so I only tend to play with my buddies anymore.
At least nobody has trouble running Starcraft on their computers, unlike newer games, where there are always performance issues.
And yeah, higher res sprites would have been awesome, there's no way to make 640x480 look pretty on 24" screens.

SC2 on the way, I hope the formula stays the same. I know some purists will be mad as blizzard will add conviniences and they will hate it lol.

I would be mad if they didn't add conveniences, repetitive stuff that is exactly the same every game, or in repetitive situations is just annoying.

Yeah, tell me about it man. We play Warcraft III FT in our clan sometimes, but only the add - ons like Dday judgement or ADota All Stars, it's really fun even if the graphics aren't the latest and stuff, we're gonna be playing fire arms this weekend just for fun, we'll be clashing with another clan and they say their all time specialty is fire arms, while ours is halo, we're gonna play both of them and see who comes out most on top, old games are fun esp. if you have a long time gaming history, most people just condemn them and judge gameplay by how good the graphics and all are.
Graphics count for something, but if you ask me they're not something that always contributes to gameplay. The illest guy in our clan has a new 1GB HD3800 with a 500W power supply and like 6gigs of ram so you can imagine it's not like we don't have the graphics power to play all sorts of newer games and stuff, just that we want to play older games sometimes, we still play halo 1 alot.
As for RTS', there's nothing new that I've seen that has been really ill in the last few months, Tiberium wars was okay but I was expecting more, to me it had about the same effect as Generals had when it came out. But that's just my personal opinion.
