Radeon X1600 on vista x64
Hi!
I've tried several times to install the ATI drivers on vista X64 modified with the modder..the driver installs just fine but when i try to run a 3D application it crashes it renders black screen ...
I have a Benq P52 notebook.
I reinstalled the whole OS but it ain't working ..

Welcome to the forums, x_phir3.
As Andriano indicated in his thread, there seems to be an issue with the notebook and Vista. Searching the net reveals the issue is widespread. This appears to be something Benq will have to fix. I'd definetly contact them and let them know how disappointed you are.

They answered that they are not supporting this laptop in Windows Vista, and never will release drivers for it.
So as i said, last hope is that Omegadriver will release "fixed" drivers for our laptop.

Its sad that you must hope for community support to run your computers. I certainly won't be picking up a Benq product any time soon.

There is altough something very odd...after installing the modified drivers all 3d aplications are working...if I restart the system every 3D aplication I try to run renders black screen and the whole system freezes...it's very weird because the drivers seem to work but I can't explain what is happening..

The main problem with Vista 64bit is that it blocks unsigned drivers, so it is possible it does not install right, still searching for a solution.

Same problem with Vista Ultimate x86 SP1...any idea?

in 32-bit vista you can disable the driver signing completely so that might be the solution for you in 32-bit vista.
