Congratulation to the winners.
I bought Crysis and The Witcher during the boxing day sales but I haven't had the time to try them yet. I guess I'll have to find some time to try them out since they ranked so good.

Try the demo before you buy it. I didn't think it was that good. Character control and fighting needs improvement.

I've actually bought The Witcher as well, I think it's my only non-expansion game purchase from 2007... now I just have to find the time to play it.

Try the demo before you buy it..for me the demo was quite poor and so dull it was removed from my pc within 3 minuites....but thats not to say you will think the same.
Again only going by the demo the controls was extremely sluggish...It may be different for you.

Maybe if Omega likes it you can sell it to him for a discount.
Oh, did anyone else notice how much The Witcher won by. Only one vote. It was like that when I last voted too.

Congratulations!
But the real winner is The Witcher. I've been playing 33 hours of it already this week. It's just pure art.
It's one of the best games of 2k< so far.

The Witcher has a really good story and there are some new and innovative features added to give it its own flavor. However, as I've mentioned previously, the game has just too many bugs to get my own personal vote for GOTY.
But, there is now a patch released (Be sure to get it fully updated!) that is supposed to address some of the problems.
Also, just a bit of a hint and advice: Do NOT get in any big hurry and try to race through the game! Rather, concentrate on Leveling up the character and getting some good gear and armor. Also, pay close attention to the alchemy portion of the game. Geralt needs to be able to make excellent potions for some of the more difficult battles ahead.
The game caused me enough frustration due to the character falling through the stairs, getting pushed through the walls/doors and not being able to fight that I would have pulled my hair out if I had enough left to pull out.
I'd have also loved some more variety in the character models. Oblivion/Morrowind pretty much spoiled me, I think.
Anyway, the game has a lot of potential and to those who are just starting, Good Luck! I hope your experience is more enjoyable that what mine was.

I have to ditto dyre straits. I thought the witcher was some kind of a dissapointment. I mean, the gameplay and such was great. great story.
Just the loading times are too long for me. getting in houses or new 'territories' took ages.
