S.T.A.L.K.E.R problems...
Im pretty sure im not the only one in the world having problems with stalker, considering they made a patch 4 days after release..., but this is really starting to piss me off. Everytime i play for about 2-15 minutes, the game will freeze and i can't do anything about it, no ctrl-alt-del or anything, i heard this problem and others like it have something to do with ATI cards or drivers, is there anything i can do to fix this problem, any help would be apreciated, thx.

350 watt power supply? Is that enough?
Anyway, is your system drivers and windows updates, up to date?

Have you tried playing the game with disabled screensaver, anti virus, internet connection, messengers, voip, anything that is not 100% needed by the game to run?
IT might be one of them interfering.

Do you play any other graphics intensive games like this one? I wonder if it is a STALKER only problem because of the game or perhaps your PC over heats or perhaps your memory has problems.
Also, try for AA and AF choosing the option "let the application decide". I seem to remember that Stalker had a problem that if you forced some AA / AF then the game would crash.
Also, make sure you read the release notes of the graphics drivers in case it is a known issue with the graphics card that require something special to be done.

i play call of duty 4, doom 3, battlefield 2, a few others, yeah i tried the AA. I think it it might be a memory problem, cuzz a stick did fry a while back, getting new motherboard and RAM soon so that might be it, surprised it didn't take the motherboard with it. thats why i only have one gig, the two black RAM slots are unusable, but any other game I play fine, a beat COD 4 in 2 1/2 days without one bit of lag with the bad motherboard, hopefully the new board and RAM will come in soon, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. might be crashing becuase my RAM might not be able to handle the open world. I may just get the second stalker instead.

From the CP top of the page. But I think you need a certain amount of posts before you can do that. I might be wrong.
