Buy or not to buy 2600XT DDR3?
Hi.
I have to buy a new video card now. I've decided to get 2600XT DDR3 according to my budget ($110). Is it a good choise? / 8600GT is more expensive
As I know soon 3650 will arrive (around $100). Is there a point in getting a cheep card and wait for 3650 (I expect to be with higher price though)? I don't have PCI 2.0 motherboard. And I am sceptic about DirectX 10.1...
Do you expect a big performance difference between 2600XT and 3650?

DX10 is pointless with those cards...Even the higher end cards can't really use DX10 yet. I found an x1950pro for $100 the other day for a friend and newegg had an X1950XT for around $120. Both those cards would smoke a 2600xt or 8600GT.

Well, in my country X1950PRO 256 DDR3 costs $172.00. (everything is more expensive here ). I know this is a very good card, but I'm out of luck.
I want to play Pro Street, other racing games and occasionaly some shooter. I haven't got much time for gaming. So, now what?

I have both the X1950 Pro 256 MB and the HD2600XT 512 MB DDR3.
I can vouch for the fact that the X1950 Pro has more power and can perform better. Mainly, it's due to having a 256-bit memory bus. The HD2600XT has 128-bit.
But, I'm not disappointed in the performance of the 2600XT at all. And, I got it for a very, very good price, too.
Cheers and good luck!
