DELL India throws bull**** on customers
I have ordered Dell Inspiron 1520 Notebook on 6.11.2007 and paid Rs. 42,650 through credit card on the same day. I was informed that the notebook will be delivered before 27.11.2007
I used to check the order status online. But the order status has not been updated since 8.11.2007. I enquired the concerened Sales Account Manager via email regarding my order status on 9th, 11th and 19th of this month. She has not responded to mail. I had called her over telephone four times. She has not given proper answer. Then, I have sent an email to DELL Sales Manager and he has also not responded.
On 26.11.07, I called the Customer care and enquired about my order. They informed that due to some money transaction problem the invoice is not ready and they are not sure about the delivery date.
I have sent a Fax to Mr. Ashish Kumar, Sales Manager, Dell India regarding the issue. I think he had thrown my fax in the dust bin. I tried by email, phone and FAX. Nobody cared. After getting money from customer, they are thinking he is rubbish. Really I feel frustrated; My experience with DELL India is very much frustrating. I am regretting for my order with DELL.

The Neo, i'd highly suggest Acer's newest laptops.... so long as you don't get the absalute cheap end models.
acer's laptops with the intergrated ATI video chipsets with vista home premium have a pretty damn good reliability ..... just as soon as you get it, go into the programs and features of the control panel, and start removing some of the garbage you don't want, or anything that has a trial period.... such as norton.. (hunk of crap)....
little bit of tweaking of the system, and updating of the software has produced some very VERY excellent results.

I second this. And when Judas says don't go the low end route, don't ignore his warning. That means stay away from the low end Celeron, but especially stay away from the AMD low end. Since most laptops these days come with Vista, the low end laptops just can't keep up with the resource demanding OS. Also, I've mentioned in other threads how bad the AMD based lappies are, and Acer AMDs are no exception, yet in the case of the Intel based Acer laptops I've probably only sent 1 or 2 back in as many years, and in each case they were Celeron ones. I've yet to send one mid/high range Acer back.
Also, if you travel a lot, consider grabbing Acers 1 year global warranty (known as the ITW, or International Travelers Warranty) that allows you to get your laptop repaired by a local authorized repair shop in the country your are in. Whether you get that warranty or not, be sure to consider their extended 3 year warranty regardless. It's well worth the extra $150 (that's $50 a year for complete coverage).

Every laptop i've gotten that's acer.. already comes with a year warranty.... but you have to send it back to acer to get repaired.... usually the turn around has been no more then 3 weeks... which shocked the hell outa me....

I ordered a Dell E1705 back in March. I had problems getting rid of Norton and i had to call the customer service. I sat on the phone with them for 2 hours till they could figure it out. I finally got it off after i totally shut down every process and had to run regedit to clear out entries. What a pain in the butt. I also had a memory problem that would blue screen and memory dump after a few days of it being constantly on. I went and bought a Sony VIAO with Windows Vista Home Premium. Its a way better laptop and it cost about the same.
