driverheaven competitions
i posted this over in the 'congrats' thread for the zotac comp, but felt it prolly wouldnt be seen much there & felt that it needed more exposure.
1st -for those few of you with some sort of negative post - every competition has the rules posted at the begining. i noticed a LOT OF YOU DID NOT READ THE RULES AS THERE WAS NO MENTION OF A GAME IN YOUR POSTS(i actually made a post to that effect at some point in the competition. wich was silly of me, but i felt it needed to be done)- so all those posts that did not mention a game were invalid.
2nd- a lot of peeps were bitching for various reasons about the way this comp was done & the way it progressed starting with the fact that mods were eligible & up to some peeps complaining about individuals posting 'to much'. please get a life. as long as the rules are followed all else is basically irrelevant.
3rd- i can guarantee you that the 'powers that be' are sick of the amount of whining that goes on during & after these competitions - to the point that they(the giveaways) could be reduced/stopped because they are such a headache to run.
bottom line - if you dont like the way the comps are setup & run dont participate & please dont ruin it for the rest of us that really appreciate the work that z & the crew put into them. ty.

so is it feedback for staff or bitchback for members?
I agree about the contest whining.
I have never won anything nor do I expect to, I come here for sheer enjoyment.
Far as I can see, if folks had expectations and they werent satisfied, I can think of no better oppurtunity to re-evaluate those expectations than now.

I find it kind of sad that a good thing like giving away a top of the line gfx card can turn into open attacks against Z and the winner. I mean, for christ's sake, the guy actually ended up apologizing for winning the card (3rd page in the competition thread)... Sad, just sad.
Mike2h, I suggest me and you grab a blunt object and start spreading the word of reason around!

One part of the rules those whiners probably never read which is quite sad since the contest page didn't have alot of words:

The boring stuff:
Driver Heaven, Gaming Heaven and Zotac are not responsible for any stress caused by trying to win this competition. The final decision is the final decision, thats why its called the final decision, so we want to see no whinging, bitching or claims of "OMG, I never win im a loser, feel sorry for me I hope you all die" when it's over.
|
Just wait and I bet there'll be a repeat in the HD3780 contest. More banning might be in order me thinks.

Good job on the bans Skull. Don't understand why people can't just enter, simply congratulate the winner and move on. Like what is the big deal? Where does this big sense of self importance come from with some of the losers?
I'm too lazy to enter any of the competitions. Can't be bothered to think of a sentence. Any chance of a 'special' competition for people like me where all you have to do is post some incoherent nonsense? That way even a guy with an IQ of a dung beetle could win and I would then feel confident participating.

Go ahead and nominate your GOTY! That's right, with only a word or two you can win a game...
Man, I sound like a damn telemarketer.

I thought thats what most people did in the last one? Especially the guy who said he spent 10 days making up "creative" entries.
Yeah, right.

I understand whole heartedly why Zardon's basically given up (if this shouldn't be here delete it please) on us, it's so frustrating having whiny bitches coming to you about every little problem they could be solving themselves and i'm amazed he didn't do it sooner.
I've learned from running a private WoW server, within a week i was sick of people whispering me in game going "OMG MOUSEY THIS GUY IS USIN H4X BAN IM!!!", when the guy in question beat the little bitch fair and square in a duel.
Pah, the world and the internet's gone mad
