GH Review: Crysis (PC)
Read The Review Here
________________________
Crysis builds up on this, giving you the same amount of freedom its spiritual predecessor gave you, coupled with one of the most advanced graphical engines of this day and age. Yes, at the core this is just a technical overhaul of a 3 year old game, but believe me when I say you probably won’t be thinking of that when you see this in motion. An interesting fact is that the game actually has a story that can’t be summed up in a single sentence (well, it can but then you lose all of the finer detail the authors sprinkled in there). Yes, unlike in Far Cry you won’t be just shooting people for the sake of it. You’ll be shooting them for mankind’s survival *cough*!

To be honest, i see no rush to go out buying a new PC for this. Wait for some patches and driver optimizations and then take a look at performance. It's good looking and all, but it's not a fantastic game.

I have to disagree with you. Since I got this game I haven't been able to stop playing. (Well, I've actually HAD to stop a few times to go to work and get a few winks, but, otherwise, it's a fantastic game for those who like this game. )

I think people will have a better opinion of the game once they are able to play it above 50fps with all the candy up.

I put off playing a number of games, such as TimeShift and Crysis, until I got my new card for just that reason. Glad I did, cuz I don't think I could handle playing Crysis on lesser graphics settings. It's simply beautiful with everything on "High" @ 1280x1024 with full AA on.
That aside, while the game is great looking, and the AI decent most of the time, the later stages of the game I'm not all to impressed with. Graphically it is still great (especially the deep cold/snow effects on your character), but the alien AI is not as good as the Korean AI was. Yes, they are harder due to their speed, and the fact it takes more to bring some of them down, but overall they aren't that hard to out wit.

i loved the freedom to choose how to approach a situation in the beginning (driving straight into an enemy village, sneaking in, etc)
however towards the end i felt like i was being steered toward goals and forced to accomplish them in one way
i think that might be why im so excited about far cry 2
all of the great stuff from crysis without the lackluster endgame
