driverheavens new sellout theme
when I first logged on I was looking down at my fruit loops all giddy for the next tech news nugget...then I look up and to my horror I threw up on my monitor, here why...
Was I hung over? I didn't drink last night. If I puked that much of a mess up I would surly remember no? Ok, I slurp my coffee...I come to, what is this theme I wonder did someone hack the site?!!
Well my intrigue quickly turned to amazement when I saw a thread by none other than this sites admin asking an opinion of said skin (which said skin is a blatant advert). Do we like it? ITS A FUCKING ADVERTISEMENT....AND THATS IT!!!Why, unless I was kissing your ass, would I like this crap?! I logged onto one giant advertisement. All I can say is yuck, and perhaps a no thank you. Don't get me wrong I love the content of this site but as soon as that is compromised by shameless shilling for products and I have to see some damned advert on my monitor that lights up my living room like it was a porn movie shot on Las Vegas BLVRD I will say no thank you sir. I can visit a myriad of sponsored sites thank you very much.
At least it could have been subtle, maybe a grey here with some blue to blend into the already familiar scheme, but no they had to crack open a can of chunky soup...sponsored by a publisher near you.
At best they can retract it with an apology, I don't see any other way. How are we supposed to trust a game review if the people that made the game are paying their bills. Honest online journalism is going down the tubes, and this doesnt exactly bold well.
Thats my 2 cents.

I think it's a great idea, even though it does look a bit cack imo, plus more importantly, it's making the guy some extra cash to spend on hookers & shit or whatever floats his boat, maybe some hot nekid bird sitting infront of some pc hardware screamin "God I just loooooooove pc geeks" type of porn. Whats wrong with that? I thought you of all people would approve of any money making scheme man! You are a disgrace to your people my friend. Stop Playa hatin boieeeeeeeee! :P

wouldnt worry about it reckless. hornet knows he is only around here for the comedy value. and christ does he deliver, all the time
it doesnt "bold" well? I dont know, tags for bold are quite easy. unless you meant bode well? at least now you know why I refused your blog idea. you are illiterate and rant like a madman. Generally a good blog is a guy who can rant intelligently .......

Running a website is an expensive business as i'm sure your'e aware Hornet, the sooner you come to terms with this fact the sooner you'll be able to comprehend the reason behind the new skin.
DriverHeaven is a great community providing all kinds of resources and information for free, as such you have to endure the advertisements which i have no problem with, god bless admuncher
If you can switch to another theme wtf is your problem? You could just set your default to something else in your profile and problem solved.

Perhaps deserving members can be redirected to a custom skin with lots of animated colorful clowns or something.

Well i was thinking in honour of hornet to maybe add a skin with guys in pink shorts and boxers (something like his signature). maybe them carrying playstation 3's around and playing motorstorm in a room together. bit like those sorority websites with hot young women in them, but more hot good looking jewish men and loads of nice pink shades (like his signature text). He apparently likes things " subtle" like that, what you think?

Do I like the theme? No. Hell, I don't like most of the themes in DH (or Windows) and usually settle for the trusty default. It does vex me that the EE3 skin always comes up on Gamingheaven but that's only because the User CP button isn't there at the top and I always use that button.
Sponsored themes are a great idea and even Hornet knows it. He hates the colors because they don't match his eye shadow or something equally queer. Hornet, you don't give a shit about the ethics of it, if the theme was for a game you loved then you'd never have made such a stink about it.
There was another guy who posted that he wouldn't visit DH again because of the ads, I checked his posts and he's got a hard on against advertising, he had a fit over the ads in BF2142 and said he'd never play that game (lucky him).
I could only see a conflict of interest if DH puts up a review of the game and even then the review could be taken from DH's sister site and avoid such controversy.

So, instead of posting few messages here and there, starting a new thread about it etc, why don't you just change the theme since you can and avoid this skin? It doesn't make sense, are you bitching just to have something to bitch about?
About the jewish remarks, just because he has the word in his nickname it doesn't mean he is jewish. Also, him being jewish or not has nothing to do with how and what he says in this forum.
Just an advice, you make yourselves look bad when from all the shit he says (though I admit when he wants he can say some very nice and clever things) you pick on his name and, possible, heritage.
That goes for everybody, it just doesn't make you look good outside.

You're stuck with the skin in Gamingheaven even if you select a different skin.

Its only the front page and I did explain why. we have a few coders making a whole new front page system which should make things a lot better for the dedicated members, hopefully we will roll it out early next year. should be awesome.
Sorry its so annoying, but to be honest I thought it was pretty cool to have a game related temporary skin option. seems to have caused a bit of drama, ah well, such is life

I dont think we have any racists on DH - and I doubt people take anything posted in the flame zone seriously (do they??!), its part of site rules that people really can't go around calling people racist names. I don't see any jewish "insults" in here at all, unless ive missed them.
I said we should have a theme with jewish men in it in relation to his name, and some gay looking guys going on the image in his signature - they aren't related! Not quite sure what the fuss is, unless ive missed a whole thread with DH regulars calling jewish people insulting names, which wouldn't be acceptable.
Everyone needs to take a can of CTFO.

Oh yeah, i didn't notice that
I can imagine that the other 15 personalities are too stupid to figure out how to use the account registration page so they can wreak their own havoc upon our noble forum

I didn't mean that there were any racist names/calls etc. But when people keep picking on his name and always tend to pick the "jewish" part, then it just doesn't look good for them.
There are no racist posts as far as I know, but the above thing is a bit well, ugly.
Perhaps I am just a bit over sensitive on this, I don't know.
