AMD releasing open source drivers?

Read about this in Slashdot, they've released alot of specs to the community and are preparing to release alot of new drivers to the open source community.

I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on this. Personally I'm excited as it might mean a real strong driver for Linux and better gaming under Linux.

I, for one, I'm very excited about this. The new 8.41 and this will surely make the world of Linux a better place for us AMD/ATi followers.

Which? The 8.41 are out and I think there's an alpha stage driver of that open source driver. That's about all I know.
