DH Article: BioShock Performance

Read the Article Here
_______________________

The moment Bioshock was released it was abundantly clear that it would mark the face of gaming forever. The spiritual successor of the famous System Shock 2 delivered an equally amazing experience in the underwater city of Rapture. And the gameplay is not the only good quality Bioshock has.

Using the Unreal 3.0 engine the game is a technical marvel, pushing the Xbox360 to its limits. On personal computers the game looks just as good, and with a high end computer system even better. With the help of higher resolutions and DX10 effects nothing less should be expected.

man I can't believe that even with a game that's as new as this they pull that crap with cutting the fov for widescreen it's crazy considering that these days your big flash screen is usualy the most expensive component in the damn comp

anyway, great wee read, and yet another indication of just what an absolute steal that 8600 is from nvidia

Woav thats some hevay FPS loss in Vista with HD2900, thats quite suprising, I always though that the Vista drivers for the hd2900 series was top notch.

2900 drivers need a serious amount of work yet.. and i think when they get it sorted out.. the drivers for the other HD2xxx series should see improvements as well.. course not nearly as large as the 2900 should..

yeah.. it really ticks me off that developers still ignore widescreen..... it's REALLY irritating when a game is technically broken IF you try and play at widescreen resolutions....
