If buying a new computer today would you consider a Mac?

It has been a while since Apple moved to Intel CPU's and it is not long until Leopard is released. If you were buying a new system today would you give serious consideration to an Apple system?

Nothing beats building your own rig.......then rebuilding it because you screwed up........then rebuilding it again...........before finally getting it running perfect and stripping it down to fit the latest and greatest upgrade ad nauseum .

Building my own gets my vote.

Same, also "highly" might be exaggerating it.

If I didnt have to worry about budget I might... but thats because it would be an addition to a non-mac pc .. So I answered 'build my own'.

I had to vote for 'build my own'.
if budget weren't a consideration however , I'd have both for sure
macs are too expensive, and I personally wouldn't run only a mac, got to run a regular pc alongside, which makes it financialy impossible

The best of both worlds:

I build my own. My wife is a graphic designer, so we always have a Mac in the house.

I would have my desktop custom built for me from a reputable vender, lots of folks in business now that can offer a system with what I want in it. Or I will buy an Apple.
Notebook, seriously considering an Apple, they are attractive and frankly I just dont waste my time gaming all day, I have a woman, a job, and a life so something that helps me get my work done and allows me to do internet is just fine.
I am not a tech whore per se, cant afford it really nor do I have the time to monkey with new stuff.

Custom, as usual. There's little point in buying a Mac when you can run OS X on any x64 rig.

I did not know that. Thats a cool tip!

Anyways I think Mac computers are over priced for what you get and I just don't like OSX and would never buy one!

I would rather buy any PC over a Mac anyday!

Ditto.

Like Richy, I wouldn't want the Mac to be my new main (Desktop) computer - two reasons - I want the satisfaction of building it out and because even an Imac configured like a Windows PC is way overpriced for my tastes.

The laptops on the other hand, are much more competitive, I think, with others of comparable specs and quality.

If mac OS was a viable gaming platform I'd ditch windows in a heartbeat...Scratch that if it was a viable gaming platform that ran on PC hardware I'd ditch windows forever. As it stands though I find mac hardware too expensive and I'm a PC gamer so mac is a no go for me. Build my own ftw.

As for my main PC, no, I would not consider a Mac, I would rather build my own PC, however, I am seriously considering a Macbook, thanks in part to Boot Camp.
