Nvidia has released new beta drivers for Windows XP and Vista, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The drivers appear to have fixes for game compatibility for Crysis and Bioshock, as well as a range of bug fixes. Check out the release notes for specifics.

Interesting... reading the release notes (pg 13) there's a bug (258862) still open for Haze - which is supposedly now only a PS3 exclusive.

Ah, well I see in the release notes this driver fixes the memory handling problems in the 8800GTS 320's. Will try them out tonight.

Did Nvidia ever optimize their drivers for Quake Wars? The demo doesn't run much better than the betas.

Well I tried them. Bioshock saw some nice gains in performance, so I'll stick with them.

I've got a question for you guys and as I lack knowledge in some areas of computers, the only way to learn is to ask questions. I was told by a friend of mine when I first got into computers that beta drivers of any kind where something to stay away from. It seems like you guys always wait for these new beta drivers with great anticipation. Why is this?

One other question, how does one go about getting his computer hardware listed in those squares on the left side?

In cases where a new game is actually unplayable or prone to lockups/freezes with present approved releases of drivers the only way to get a game to play is using Beta releases which address the problem. Sometimes they offer fixes which remedy issues for certain hardware configurations as well.

WOW has anyone noticed this,

I get some weird problems with bioshock when i enable vsync.

With vsync disabled i get massive frames and no background stuttering.
with vsync enabled i get frames way under the 60 most of the time and very bad background stuttering...

i seem to get no problems at all with vsync disabled apart from the tairing ect...
