nero 7 ultra enhanced vista burning audio cd issues
well so far with my new comp, i fixed the intel controller issue, got my internet connection working, got a new bluetooth adapter. but one more issue remains that is pissing me off: NERO 7
whenever i burn audio CDs in nero 7 ultra on vista (with the latest updates of course), they mess up. basically they play completely fine on my computer with track listings, but once i pop em into my car the tracks show up blank and always show up as 99 tracks. none of them play, i hear my cd changer trying to play it. then when I burn it on WMP11, i have some difficulty loading it but after waiting and maybe ejecting/loading and switching tracks it plays. my older burned CDs are fine (the same type of media) as are original CDs I have. So to burn music I use WMP11, doesn't support crossfading and still is pretty crappy for burning.
I tried reformating, changing the mp3 codec files (there was a skipping issue with previous version, replacing them worked) and burning at minimum speeds. no luck. what the hell is wrong? I tried dreaded iTunes no luck with any burning. not impressed with Nero at all, it was once the nice and light burning software. now its worse than roxio!

I couldn't guess other then it's possibly burning in a strange mode...
I've burnt a few audio cds with nero 7 ultra latest updated applied and i haven't had any trouble even playing in the oldest of cd players..
Enless your burning DATA/MP3 discs.... but that doesn't sound at all like what your doing.

I'm guessing Vista tries to pull some DRM stuuf on you and fails. Just try other burning software, there's free ones out there. That way you'll know if it's Nero or Vista.

well I figured out where the problem is, and its both my burners. Took me a long time because I have been lazy. I burned an audio cd on nero on my laptop and its fine. I updated the firmware just today and still no luck. What should I do? Both the drives do this!

burrrn.net - The home of Burrrn
maybe give this lil prog a try, ive been using it on vista w/ no probs, can burn a bunch of formats to cd and do the disk labeling, also supports .cue files.
this lil guy be'n quick and independent would rule out completly nero be'n weird

Which version of Nero 7 are you using, btw? Minimum should be Nero 7.8.5.0, preferably Nero 7.9.6.0, or 7.10.1.2 which was the last version.

i figured out the issue and its completely hardware. the reason why this happens is the high rate of jitters I get from the drive when I burn the cd. I found on clubcdfreaks patched firmwares, they did nothing. I am going to go buy 2 new dvd rom drives tomorrow, I don't want to deal with asian people at the computer store to get them exchanged. My old Lite-on drive wasn't that crappy... thinking if I should go LG, Samsung or Sony?

No Pioneer?
Out of the choices, the order you posted them is the order I'd get them. However, I'd pick up NEC over Sony. Same drives, but the NEC ones are better built for some reason.
