??? Best Linux on usb thumb drive?

I have old one gig thumb drive I'm wondering what best Linux software for me try with my new wireless I want it easy that way in can notice it durning boot up.

A light, but not too light linux that I have tried, though not with a usb thumb drive since I don't have one, but with live cd, is slax (the kill bill theme).

According to the site the same version also works with usb drives.
