Omega drivers going crazy?

I was wondering if you guys could help me. I'm new here and I ran into a little problem using the Omega drivers for my RADEON X1950 PRO 256MB.

Whenever I have the omega drivers installed my monitor has a problem staying on. I will boot up the computer, get to the windows screen where the little bar runs across the screen showing that its loading. Then when I get to the log in area it says "Monitor going into Power Saving mode" then the green light near the monitors power button just blinks and the only way to turn it back on is to restart the computer and after about maybe 5 or 6 times if im lucky i can get to my desktop and be fine. When I uninstall the omega drivers its fine. I have tried reinstalling them 3 times. Can anyone offer help? Is there any other good drivers for my card besides the omega ones? The ones at the ati.amd site suck, they give me .NET FRAMEWORK errors left and right.. first they say i need version 2.0 or higher than they say 3.0 when i get 2.0... its rediculous.

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!

First of all, we'll get started by moving your post to the correct forum. This particular one has nothing to do with video drivers and/or related problems.

Next, we'll need to know much more about your system:

CPU, Motherboard, Chipset, RAM, Monitor (Make and Model), Power Supply Unit (PSU), etc.

I'll move the thread now and you'll be able to find it without any trouble.

As for the .NET Framework situation: You ONLY need .NET framework in order to install Catalyst Control Center....NOT the drivers.

My Computer did the exact same thing a few years ago. But it was because my motherboard was slowly frying. It sounds like your monitor acts like the computer isnt plugged into it. Mine did the same thing and the only way to get it to work was to get lucky on the xxth restart. I might also be your power supply. If you start having problems like your keyboard doesnt work. or your mouse. and its plugged in. i would get worried. =/ sorry but this is what i think.

Good luck
