Addition to Hardware Profile
What do you think about adding the type of Case we all use, and also could we add an option for Windows XP X64? Just would let others see case and give ideas of whats good also OS usage...I know its primarily used for helping because all relevant system info is present, just be a nice kicker

Well im not so sure this is that important. I mean ideally we could have 15 fields but all the space this would take would cause viewing issues on the forum.
Any one else have an opinion on this?

I'm not too opinionated on the subject, however, I do see the point in viewing issues seeing as some profile sidebars are longer than most posts. Good thought though.

Well considering, does ALL the fields have to be presented in the forums?
I mean if someone clicks on ones name to view the entire users profile, then they can get all the info there.
I would however like to see a more variation of OS in use, Adding x64 to the selection, frankly what version of Vista isn't all that important, just Windows Vista and Windows Vista x64 and Windows XP and Windows XP x64 would be dandy
Is there ANY way that the Computer specs could be setup to rotate through every time the page is loaded (so different specs could be listed) that way if everything could be displayed, but not make the forums get all screwed up by being long and only showing say 4 specs listings.

i would like for there to be a sound card field .
vertical scrolling is not an issue for me. besides, aren't the ones that show only the ones that we have opted to put in? so, if a person doesn't put anything in, then nothing will show for that particular person for that particular field.

Ive seen some forums that have hardware profiles like we have, that when you hover over them display the full information...I forgot what forum it was on, I will look around, but that may solve the length of them being longer than a post

I too have been on the site with the 'hover and display specs' system. Pretty crap site (I never returned) but a nice way to save space.

Selection of case doesn't really matter, it's like listing keyboard, mice, speakers, cpu-fan etc. If anyone feels the need to list these, they can stick them in their sig.
More OS selection (32/64-bit) wouldn't hurt, and it wouldn't lengthen anything.
Rollover popups... whatever works, it's fine now, but if something else works as well, I wouldn't have any problems with it.

case is nice but not that necessary......
a small space for cooling equipment might be better as its under the guidelines of case, HSF, fans and so on
x64 OS is good though
sound cards are good too as we have a sound card forum
the rest of the stuff like hard disks would be good too

yeah while you are at it, i'd like one for "underpants" - so I could put in "fresh" or "stale". and maybe "breakfast" so I could put in "eggs and bacon" or "cereal".
It is enough as it is.

I like the underpants..... but perhaps instead of current state, maybe put "since last wash" and a time in hours and days....

Maybe add case/ soundcard/ speakers etc.. but then if there are going to be "extra" slots not shown, or shown only if clicked on or "moused over"- how about 4 or 5 boxes with no title, let the user decide what they want to put in there. Just non-specific titled "additional info" boxes..
For instance I would put in my new uninterruptible power supply specs, someone else might put in their fancy new keyboard and mouse, monitor specs, etc, etc..

well personally I think it's good as is.
a quick glance to get a basic idea of the system somebody has when you're reading about their problem, all you need is there already
if you start adding options like case , keyboard etc that would only really be there for bragging rights (lets be honest) where do you stop? I have a Wii, a PS2 , A DS lite etc , should we have boxes for those ?
my opinion anyway, there's plenty room for txt and links in sigs for anything you want to add / are especially proud of
