Decoding AC3 with Live! 5.1
Hi,
I got myself a live! 5.1 model sb0100 soundcard, modded so it has attached a digital I/O module.
I've got a xbox 360 which I connect to the card via a toslink cable to the spdif in on the digital module, and I'm having issues trying to play Dolby Digital sound.
If I set the audio config in x360 to digital stereo, the sound plays flawlessly on my pc (I have the creative sbs560 5.1 speakers connected to the sound card via the 3 analogue connectors), but when I switch it to Dolby Digital 5.1 it produces a "crack" sound and I won't hear anything until I switch it back to digital stereo.
I've tried many different drivers, original from creative, kx mod, youp mod, audigy hacked drivers... and I get the same results (well, when I tried the kx ones, when I changed to Dolby Digital, it produced a constant "bff" annoying sound), I've tried setting on/off the passthrough, the decoding options, all the possible combinations (I think) with all the different drivers and I can't get it to work.
One thing I noticed with another user who was decoding the dolby digital from the x360 on his sound blaster card was that I cannot change the options in "digital input" of spdif (I have it blocked in "standard", the option is grey and I can't modify it) while he changes it to "dolby digital decoding" (I refer to the option on the creative audio console / audio HQ of the original drivers).
What can I do to get then the AC3 / Dolby Digital from my console to work on my system?
Thank you!
