Nvidia and Vista

I have to say that Nvidia drivers for Vista are abismal. Most every game I've tried playing runs at half the fps as I got in XP and Source based games will not run at all; once I start to move the mouse, the textures go all nuts with triangles appearing all over the place. Pain Killer works ok but performs horribly. I think I am going to go back to XP when I get home tonight. This is just downright Aweful.

System Specs

I tried to install these over the 158.24, got a blank screen when I got into Windows...

So i had to go into safe mode, re-install the 158.43 and when i rebooted into Windows, i had to click no to i want to install my drivers to upgrade.... o_O

Anyway, leason learned: Install old drivers first, do not count on the install program can do it properly

Also it says 158.42 under systeminfo in Nvidia controlpanel, but thats properly a cosmetic bug.

These installed just fine for me.

Erroneus I used to have that blank screen come up when previous drivers would remove the current driver. For whatever reason I have seen it since the past to revisions.

Reverting back. Cant play battlefield 2142 for more than 10 seconds in game - freezes up the application.

I have the 158.45 running on Vista 32bit and they are working great.

gaming Rez is 1650x1080
WOW runs fine 50-60FPS even in raids
CS source and DOD Souce is great ( with out Vsync it is 120+FPS)
DIRT demo runs great at High settings
Black and white 2 Maxed settings runs perfect
Call of Duty 1.7 DX10 patch again very nice at med-high settings

I like the new drivers. vista is gaming just fine
