Pappa
let me walk once more
my father and I
telling lies and singing songs
counting clouds in the sky
will I go to heaven pappa
what happens when we die
hurry up son
lets get home for supper
big boys dont fret or cry.
warm sun and cool breeze
those summer days just passed us all by.
in the twilight of another english day
I wonder how he is, and hope he's well
and dream of pappa and a summer sky
Pappa gave me so much
and so many things I know from him I learned
my deepest affection for a man that held my hand
kept me from falling in the deep water and getting burned
from him I learned to be patient, from him I learned to be a man.
