i used to have a rage, and the dvd player is awesome, i still prefer over powerdvd. now i got a damn gf4mx. definately try out the ati dvd, rest of their multimedia stuff is ok, like the tv-in. and if u got a rage card u can use the new mmc but they never say it bastards!

ati dvd mmc uses the cyberlink coding, so no there isnt. some say the interface is nicer. not sure I agree.

Lol, the interface....
Ah the DVD codecs make noticeable differences? I wonder which would be the best, then... cuz I've seen a few thru the upgrades of MMC.
I think there were: RAVISENT, CineMaster, cyberlink I guess . . . what else?
Argh wish I paid more attention... can't remember the little details well . . .

i did find better dvd playback with the ati rage, im using a msi gf4 mx440, and the intrface is simpler. WinDVD is horrible, it lags every fucking 5 mins. PowerDVD feels a little gay but im stuck wit it. How's this new NVDVD crap by nvidia?

the weird thing is that although i know powerdvd and the new decoder are both made by cyberlink for some reason the MMC DVD seems sharper than PowerDVDXP to me.....also in any other DVD Player app i have this odd issue with movies having slight black lines when fast action happens....especially with the Buffy DVD's.
In MMC i see it much less and it just seems smoother and sharper.......the smoother and sharper could be my imagination but the lines showing up less definitely is not

ati software owns, i found my rage way more stable than this damn mx 440, but its more power but isnt much compared to the standard, o well, r9800 or r9700 pro coming my way witha 3.2 HT, then we'll see some serious dvd performance with my audigy hehe.
