AC97 selector stuck on Mic - can't record from line in

I can't record from the Line-in socket on my Soundblaster Live! card (CT4620), which I gather has good compatibility with the driver. I can mute and unmute the microphone and line-in sockets respectively, and those directly affect what I hear in the headphones, but no matter what I select for the AC97 input, if I'm recording in windows Wave recorder, for instance, I can only ever hear the mic input into the wave recorder, and never the line input. In other words, the AC97 input selection for recording seems to have absolutely no effect whatsoever. It is permanently stuck on 'mic'. Before I loaded the KX drivers, with the Creative drivers I never had this problem at all, which suggests it is unlikely to be a coincidental hardware failure. Any clues? It's driving me beserk!

Mike,

I used to have a CT4620 which worked fine with kX. It has been so long since I actually used the kX mixer that it is hard for me to advise you through setting it up correctly. Like a lot of others here I have created some custom DSPs which are much simpler, in my opinion, to figure out.

Which version of kX are you using? If you are interested in setting up a DSP, I or a number of other people can help you do that.

A simple DSP like the one Lex shows here will work:

He hasn't updated his graphics lately and the SRC Line In that is shown is actually now found in an ADC plugin instead of the SRC.

The plugins that he shows are available in his PROFx download:
