Can you install Omega without the crap?
I use to allways use omega drivers back in the 3dfx days, they where great drivers, but whats putting me off installing the ATI omegas is the fact it comes with loads of 3rd party crap, can you say no to these on install, also Ive heard that once instaled its very hard to get a clean uninstall and usually messes up your system so that you cant revert back to the ATI drivers if you wanted.
Anyone enlighten me?

Yes, there is a custom install option with check boxes in regards to MultiRes, and ATI Tray tool. However ATI Tray Tools > CCC and should be used in conjunction with any 3rd party set of drivers. Multires is kinda useless though.
ATI Tray Tools is an excellent program and should not be looked at as "3rd party crap" alot of time has gone into that program.
And No, installing the other stuff will not damage your system in anyway when installed properly, and if you want you can resort back to the ATI Officials. Use DriverHeaven's DriverCleaner to uninstall any video driver completely and follow the steps to ensure best performance.

I've been using Omegadrivers for years. Only in the past year have I also used the NGO drivers.
I've never had any problem reverting to the official ATI drivers. I'm still not sure just why some people are having problems doing so.
I simply use the uninstaller that comes with the Omegadrivers and delete the folders as directed, reboot, and commence to install the version of my choice.
Even though Multi-Res gets installed, I've rarely used it as I'm still using old-fashioned CRT monitors.
But, as stated, ATI Tray Tools is really a nifty program. It may take a little digging to get used to it, but once you do, you'd be lost without it.

Had a go of that ATI tool once, found it not at tall user friendly, may as well been written in a foreign language for all the sense it made, the author really needs to simplify it for us thickys.
