Hey there, it would help out if I could understand a bit better what you are trying to do. Did you want to use your PC as a home theature watching HDTV/movies or did you want to use your HDTV as your computer monitor?

I use an ATI HDTV Wonder card so I can help ya out if you need to go that route.

Also the AVS forums http://www.avsforum.com has a wealth of information.

I want to use it to watch tv and movies, but also to be used as a computer for gaming and whatever.

You probably need/will shortly need HDMI capable monitors and video cards... the TV tuner as long as it will capture HDTV signals you're good but I'd get HDTV capable HDMI aware devices for future compatibility's sake

ATI TV wonder 650 is what I use in coperation with my providers set top box.
@ H3X4D3C1M4L I've yet to see a TV tuner card with HDMI support. But I think
your right to an extent but they'll never require everyone to have hdmi. Not for
many years to come and by then we'll all have new hardware.

I was under the impression that all you needed was a video card with HDMI and a compatible display then everything would work? i.e. you could play DVD's onto your hi-def display and all that...?

yes, i think the turner card is just for tv. These rumours of the new ati cards having nice playback features has me hanging on for another month. I will likely be disapointed, but I am not feeling the urgent need to buy something just yet.

In that case don't, nVidia had a nice dual tuner card that looked pretty sweet
