I've gone Nvidia though it's kind of unfair. Nvidia have had to incorporate a whole new level of DirectX into there drivers, ATI still has all that fun to come (if they ever manage to get a card on the market).
Plus despite all the negative press and bashing Nvidia have been getting I haven't experienced a single issue with a game and haven't been back to XP since launch day. My ATI card on the other hand wouldnt even get past the title menu's on Battle for middle earth and HL2 was also so corrupt it was unplayable.

OMG!@!!! some people actually voted Nvidia
Come on neither ATI nor nvidia's went off with out any minor hitches. Some issues
are the OS, some are that people need to learn how to use the compatibility modes
of vista. Or the games...But there are many people that are VERY displeased about
the poor nvidia drivers, lack of sli support etc. ATI was way ahead (months) even
before the OS was out so no doubt their driver was in a more ready state.. hence they
(ati) had a better launch hands down...
guess some missed the bad press about the state of their drivers? even the guy that was
trying to get a group together to sue them? Due to their drivers in vista! Sure they now
released better drivers "after the fact" but that makes it "after launch" and null here...

Ok I'm speaking as a USER of both sets of drivers not someone who scours forums looking for bad press or listens to net rumour.
Pre-release catalysts were abysmal and 6.1's caused multiple lock-ups in games for me. I still can't play BFME without corruption on an ATI card, the tower at the start menu is bright purple.
Nvidia although far from perfect are trying to provide workable drivers for a much broader range of hardware and configurations, obviously it's going to take time. What I will say in there defence is that they appear to be working a lot harder to fix things with 2 to 3 releases a month as kinks are worked out. Im willing to bet if we ever see these mythical DX10 cards from AMD it'll be the one set a month like it or lump it.

1 users opinion yes. There are quite for more folks out there experiencing more issues w/ Nvidia's drivers than ATIs.

Not much to discuss. The benchmarks say everything. ATI delivered exactly what they said, "Vista Ready" ment exactly what is implies. Nvidia totally dropped the ball, here it is a month and a half after Vista's launch and still every driver they have is Beta at best, IMO. Not only have they ignored the Vista adopters, but there hasn't even been an XP driver since November! I wonder what they hell their driver department does all day, but I can guarantee they don't work, at least not as efficiently as the ATI folks (thanks to Terry, no doubt) If NV doesn't get their shit together and soon, I won't even consider purchasing another card from them.

ATI is lagging behind like they were last year. Maybe driver support is better but 8800 destroys anything ATI has right now.
O my bad, this was about driver support.
I guess ATI though I'm only going by what I heard because I don't have vista or ATI.

Anyone that votes Nvidia is a blind fanboy. Their Vista launch has been nothing less than a disaster.

SFOSOK:
Only 1 of two players showed thier hand. Can't call the game untill all the cards
are on the table. But mind you the new nv line is useing a path of idea's / tech,
1st introduced in the xbox 360 . Now with AMD's full resources behind them we
could very well be suprized.
Lelisevis:
With NV the beta's are always been a plenty. doesn't show any additional effort
or lack there of for that matter. How would nvidia be trying trying to provide drivers
for any broader range of hardware and configurations then ATI is?
truth is even when vista was public beta ATI offered full support when NV was
announcing support in a "future" driver month(s) down the line. So it no supprise
thier (ATI) is doing better in that dept.
No need to "scour the forums looking for bad press or net rumor" as you say. I guess
you missed the front page news articles. Websites erected by users having issues like
http://www.nvidiaclassaction.org/ .

I couldn't vote, as it seems to me that neither has had a great time with drivers. Maybe the problem is with ms? So lets have both have had problems choice.

The Nvidia launch may be a disaster but they seem to be learning some valuable customer relations lessons.
The same cannot be said for Logitech.

aples to aples
due to the fact that we are talking about DX10 driver verse a DX9 driver i think this vote is improper. We are compairing ATI's updated DX9 driver to NVIDEA's first ever DX10 driver. Not right or proper in my books - this should happen after ATI comes out with a DX10 driver and card then you can really compair aples to aples.

From what I have read there are a couple programs and many on the horizon that will be DX10 capable but I have also read that the main problem is with DX10 attempting to run DX9 applications using DX10 mode since the 8800 platform is capable of DX10. I think this would certainly cause issues but I am certainly not an expert therefore rely on what I read and experience. My 8800 does outperform my saphyre 1950 in both benchmarks and I think quality on my 22 inch display but that is using XP - I wont migrate to Vista until this issue is resolved - hopefully soon.

Flight sim X is DX10 I think
Company of Heroes will have a DX 10 update in the coming months
Halo 2 will also use some DX 10 features
DX 9 and DX 10 screenshot comparison of Age of Conan.

I dont see the contest, ati hasn't even got anything dx10 compatible so how can they claim to be fully vista compliant.
its one thing to update old drivers to work with a new os but nvidias had to craft new drivers to work with a new direct x version - a much bigger task.
