New Ram (2x1gb)

Now my current setup is in my profile. I play sounterstrike source competitively and I need some better faster ram. I need the best ram (2x1GB) for under 200 dollars. I really need some adivce on this because I am totally lost in all the brands. Remember keep it under $200. Thanks a lot.

Corsair Value Select 2 gig kit (match 1 gig pair)

Newegg.com - CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Desktop Memory - Retail

Used to be $140 back before memory prices jumped. Still, $169 is not so totally horrible.

If you want, you could have 3 gig. My system runs best in Dual Channel mode with only 1 dimm in each channel, total of TWO 1 gig chips.

I put the other 1 gig I had in another machine.

System Specs

The Corsair is high quality but if it's for gaming I'd be getting modules with tighter timings such as:

GSkill 2-3-2-5 @ $189.99

Mushkin 2-3-2-6 @ $174.99 (after $25 rebate)

Kingston HyperX 2-3-2-6 @ $192.99

Thanks for the welcome. I was looking at the G.Skill and it looks like that is what I will be buying. Also all my things are going to be transfered to my new case I won at DC-Lan for CSS!

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Mystique RC-632-SSN1-GP Silver Computer Case - Retail

Yay free things!
