nv to go to monthly driver release for vista
"NVIDIA told me that they planning to start releasing a new version of their Forceware driver for Vista at least once every month. I say at least because Diercks said that if they find several game fixes or bugs that are substantial they may have intermittent releases as well to help appease the gaming masses. "

Seen this article a week ago, I was going to search the forum (but erm it took a while). Be nice if it happens although i'd like it if the 'beta's' still came out too. I find ATI's approach a little stiff at times especially if a specific fix is needed.

not such a bad idea, but i don't think that NVIDIA's QC will be all that to fix all the bugs in monthly drivers.
that's just my thoughts on it though.

I don't think it will be a bad thing. At least this way bug fixes will be introduced each month, even if only a few, and some months perhaps major stuff will get done.
It has worked ok for ATI so far, so this could be a nice way to even things out.

That's why folks should not invest in the Bleeding Edge.
Stick with XP until the first service pack or two for Vista and you won't have any issues like they are having on Vista right now.

this is about nv...you missed the whole point, its about nv providing very poor driver support for both xp & vista.. & it looks like driver support for xp is going to become even more lackluster.

when the last official driver is rolled out for winXP, it should be the perfect driver. The fix-all-bugs-from-all-current-and-old-software driver. anything after that of course is a coin toss...
