Скачал 3538м, большое спасибо за поддержку. Наверное эта версия ещё
сырая. Микрофонный вход работает очень тихо, линейный - нормально. При
включении входа наблюдается недопустимый шум.

Problem with distorted sound font playback still exists....
My notebook is Compaq EVO N800v + Win XP, tested in various hosts - but result is the same: unusable midi SF playback.

Well there is one question.
Yesterday I bought a Beholder Columbus PCMCIA TV tuner. It installed fine, I set up BeholdTV application for tuning. After a few hours of multiple system restores (norton ghost images from DOS) and reinstalles I think I figures out what the problem is.
The system boots fine, but ANY (I've tried three) tuner softwares HALT the system. I think it's when they try to open audio OR video streams. This is how my current (with ACPI) IRQ table looks like:
Code:
(ISA) 0 System timer
(ISA) 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
(ISA) 8 System CMOS/real time clock
(ISA) 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
(ISA) 12 PS/2 Compatible Mouse
(ISA) 13 Numeric data processor
(ISA) 14 Primary IDE Channel
(ISA) 15 Secondary IDE Channel
(PCI) 10 Behold TV Columbus
(PCI) 10 Crystal WDM AC'97 Driver for ICH4
(PCI) 10 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM SMBus Controller - 24C3
(PCI) 10 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C2
(PCI) 10 Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller
(PCI) 10 Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus Controller
(PCI) 10 Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus Controller
(PCI) 11 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C4
(PCI) 11 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller - 24C7
(PCI) 11 Intel(R) 82801DB/DBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 24CD
(PCI) 11 OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
(PCI) 11 Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
So we see, Columbus TV tuner shares IRQ's with audio and graphics controller. I think this is the key to my problem - I have no sound and no video when starting BeholdTV application, and when I find the working channels, the tuner (any application!) halts the system. I dunno what to do now, because I still didn't find a way to map IRQ's manually.
What am I trying to say regarding kX drivers is - maybe initialisation procedure IS fine and the driver works, but opening a recording caused a halt (in my case)? Previous, 3538L version had no support for recording, and worked fine. Audigy ZS notebook has to have the same IRQ as cardbus controller so it conflicts with embedded sound device and halts the system?
Please post your IRQ maps here. To capture IRQ mappings use Kleptomania software. To see IRQ mapping use Device manager > View > Resources by connection.
Feel free to comment and point out where I'm wrong or whatever. I'm still eager to make my TV tuner work

get the file http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/kx3538m_nbzs.bin
rename it into kx3538m_nbzs.rar
unpack into a new folder
the archive comes with three .sys files:
kx3538m_1.sys
kx3538m_noi2c.sys
kx3538m_noi2c2.sys
go to c:\program files\kx...\
and find kx.sys. make a copy of it (say, kx_3538m_original.sys)
for each new .sys file in the archive do the following:
copy it to c:\program files\...
rename into 'kx.sys'
re-run kxsetup from c:\program files\...
check if this fixes the issue
try the next file
---
if this fails, get 3538l's kx.sys and repeat the same procedure
---
changes:
* disabled i2c (this will probably make analog inputs inoperable)
* removed one additional delay in initialization code

Eugene,
How to say this so as not to offend. Are we helping you trouble shoot "m" with the ultimate goal to have everything working as it should including the analog ins on the a2zsnb or just a work around to be able to use "m" with the a2zsnb never to have analog ins?

I also had the freeze problem while installing. So I tried to replace the kx.sys from 3538l...hmmm...everything seems fine.
But I also find a problem.
If I change the SSRC plugin in foobar2000 0.9.4.2 frequently, the output sound will become a noise. I will reboot to recover.

I don't know what exactly is causing lock-ups, since 3538l..3538m work fine on my PC.
moreover, 3538m supports analog inputs quite fine (although some people reported mic is too noisy)
so, there's at least one goal: figure out what's wrong with 3538m in terms of system stability. I compared 3538l and 3538m source code and created new .sys files (attached above) with some portions of code removed / disabled.
at the moment, the tests show that the stability is not related directly to the particular .sys file...
I'm still waiting for more reports
E.

Well, from my tests it is clear, that it's possible to have analog inputs working.
You've seen my reports, there was something strange with .sys driver - it loads from HDD only on boot. Card input-output tricks shown that a driver stays in memory when I have DisablePagingExecutive = 1.
When I disabled this option, WinXP was supposed to be unloading a driver and loading a new one from HDD (replaced). It seems it did, and I got back the behaviour from earlier - audio-input-enabled driver halts the system on card init. Thats my conclusion for now.

oh oh oh ! goods news it's work !!
so, my report (with my bad english ...)
i tested:
the 38l's kx.sys on 3538m kxsetup.exe and the 38m's kx.sys on 3538l kxsetup.exe
result: no freeze, but no analog input
so, i tested the first new kx.sys (kx_3538m_1.sys), and it's work !
so, i tested the 38m's kx.sys (original) on 3538m kxsetup.exe and it's work too (with analog input )
I am sure that if you stop the install and just run kxsetup.exe, it's work.

Could you explain the exact procedure and what you mean by stop yhr install.
Here is what i've tried.
1. machine is off and I install card
2. boot machine and press cancel to install new hardware
3. run kxdrv3538mfull.exe
4. after that completes I donot yet do the install
5. go into program files and replace the kx.sys file as eE. provided
6. then do the install
7. reboot and machine freezes at the windows splash screen
LAPIN BLANC what did you do to get it to work?
Thanks
Maybe run the install twice before reboot?

Ok, first, my machine don't freezing on reboot but on install only (it seems to be an another prob)
my procedure:
1) I uninstall the 3538l's drivers
2) I plug the card
3) I launch the kxdrv3538m-full.exe
4) on the last screen of the Nsis installer "Completing the Kx Project Audio Drivers Setup Wizard":
If I click "finish", the install continue and freeze just after "install the SB0350 drivers ?"
If I uncheck "run Kx Project audio" and execute "C:\Program Files\kX Audio Driver\3538\kxsetup.exe", I reboot, and it's work.
(my machine: HP NX9010 P4M 3.0 Ghz/ Win XP sp2)

Oops I did it again !
Ok, i understood ! the only way for me for install the 3538m is:
A)I have a ghost image with a clean windows xp SP2 with the 3538l drivers installed. this system don't run "kxmixer.exe --startup" at startup (because I don't plug my card everytimes) I do many many test this time, (all this day ). each times i've got a freezing, i reloaded the same ghost image.
1) I boot my machine without the card
2) I uninstall the 3538l drivers
3) I plug the card
4) I run "kxdrv3538m-full.exe"
5) I stop the install ( I uncheck "Run Kx audio drivers")
6) I uninstall the 3538m drivers
7) I run "kxdrv3538m-full.exe" (one more times)
8) I stop the install ( I uncheck "Run Kx audio drivers")
9 )OK!!! here I can test all Kx.sys ! no freeze !
B) The Kx.sys tests:
1) the 38m's Kx.sys:
Work but the same bug like anothers posts: freeze on startup (on the xp screen with the little blue bar)
Bug: if i don't reboot and if i unplug and replug the card (freeze)
The analog input work.
2) the kx_3538m_1:
Work, no bug on startup, just one bug: if i unplug and replug the card (freeze)
If I boot my machine without my card, and if I plug it after, the system freeze too
(with and without the "Kxmixer.exe --startup")
The analog input work.
3) the kx_3538m_noi2c and the kx_3538m_noi2c2
The analog input don't work, but no bug on boot, and I can unplug and replug my card. when I do this, I need just to kill and relaunch Kxmixer.exe (because I don't see the sliders)
System config: Hp nx9010 - P4M 3,0 ghz - 512 mg of ram - win xp SP2
