Multiple Monitors Problem: All-in-Wonder 8500 and Radeon 9250

I previously had a All in wonder 8500 on a Abit IC7-G Mobo(w/ updated chip set) running Windows XP pro. working with my PCI Nvidia Vanta for a second monitor. I wanted a third monitor, so I got a Radeon 9250 with a VGA and DVI out. I removed the old card, put in the new and it worked fine but then the TV stopped working so I updated to MMC 9.16.

Big Mistake! Then driver Radeon 8500 would load up instead of the All in Wonder driver. So I selected the All in Wonder driver instead with the second card being the Radeon 9250... then windows would not boot up... it would almost get to the welcome screen and then reboot.

I then used the uninstall utility, made sure everything was removed as per the ATI instructions and re installed everything. Same thing over. Windows would not boot, unless I went back to the Radeon 8500 driver.. which has no TV of course. So..

Then I went back to my old config, the All in Wonder 8500 with my old card Nvidia Vanta as the secondary display adapter and the TV would work as long as I made the secondary monitor disabled. If I enabled the Nvidia Vanta card, now the TV and sound would come on, but the screen would now be black.

I just want to heave the whole set up in the ocean now and don't know what to do. I'd love any advice I can get. I'd go back to an older version of MMC but don't know which to use or how to get it. ATI website bites. Thanks in advance!

You may need to consider getting a separate TV tuner then using your 9250 for 2 monitors... it doesn't look like you're going to get this setup to work. AiW's are finnicky enough without throwing in a second display adapter

Ok. I'll give up on AIW and buy another card. Do you have a favorite? I just want to watch TV while I work.

Funny enough ATI's cards work quite well, but I've heard the best things about Hauppage TV cards.

I know what you mean though... you get to a point where you just want things to work no matter the cost
