Important Compaq Presario M2000 drivers missing!

I just finished reinstalling XP home on a Compaq Presario M2000 for this guy, and now it has some important drivers missing, the fallowing are missing

Graphics driver (video controller) - not sure if it's onboard of not
Audio driver (Multilmedia Audio Controller), so no sound (really need)
Pci Modem driver (really need)
SM Buss controller (nt sure what that is)

I've been looking at thes drivers from here:

but they don't seem to work for me.

I can't seem to find much information on it's hardware and stuff, so any help would be great guy! (really need to gt this sorted)

O.k i have mannage to fix the sounds and modem. all i need is the graphics driver. Think it's a
Intel Extreme 2 graphics IGP

Hey, I have exactly the same problem, I formated an M2000 for a friend and had all the drivers from the compaq site but they dont work... Could you tell me which ones you used?

I have the same problem, everything else I got fixed, but Graphics Controller driver is a big problem....Tried also downloading from www.intel.com/support, but it didn´t work..

Please help!!!

I have the same problem and I dont know what else to do to solve it. My laptop presario M2000 (actually is a M2001AL) was very slow and sometimes freezing so I decided to format HD and install Win XP again. Now I have big problem with drivers. I downloaded all the dirvers form HP-Compaq site, but when I install them the laptop stops working and I have to shut it down. I tryed to install drivers one by one and I could install them all, but after two or three minutes, the comp begins to be slow and the cursor starts to freeze and after that it stops completely and I have to turn off. The problem seems to be with Conexant audio driver, coz if i install all other drivers the lalptop works well. Guys I dont know what else to do. I really need your help.

hello tarninc i have the same problem with my compaq hp m2000 could u please give me the link or the software to download audio n modem driver for my laptop i have managed to fix video driver i have been looking these drivers 4 about 3 weeks i would be very great full to you

I recently formatted my Presario M2000 only to find that none of the M2000 drivers worked on my laptop! I googled my p/n (located on the bottom of the laptop EC219UA#ABA) and it turned out that I had a M2305NR not a M2000. I'm having exactly the same problem now on my M2000 after reinstalling windows XP!!!!

How did you fix the above problems??? I put my driver disc in but as mentioned that doesn't work.

Please help!!!

Hello djclintriley, welcome to DH.

Have you tried the method posted by Usagi85. Give it a shot. Also, you should post whatever information you do know about your laptop to help us figure the problem out.

they worked for a clients laptop fine =) been having the same issue as you lot.. as i actually found this thread via google.. lol. lucky i'm a member here to say thanks :P

Hello. Some time ago my hard disk crashed and I have to buy a new one (a guy did all the work and formatted the new hard disk), well I gave him my CD with drivers and he didn't tell me there was a problem.
Did you guys try with the drivers cd?
I'm asking because I'm thinking on formatting my laptop and I have this CD.
If you still need it, I could upload the content of the CD (but I'd do it on august 6).

There must have been something that is screwed up with M2000 drivers that is making work a little more undesirably challenging

..

Here is the fix

:

1. First download & install "Intel Chipset Installation Utility" (I presume you use XP) from Intel Chipset Installation Utility

2. Now download the actual Conexant AC Link Audio Driver from Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver (This driver is actually built on top of aforementioned Chipset Utility, which simply means you need the Chipset first installed

)

Note:

1. I have not suggested the M200x series drivers because they are all totally screwed up there

. Only the above mentioned link for Conexant AC Link Audio Driver from HP (the parent site - not Compaq) works.

Hey... My friend was having problem with his driver, I found this forum and people are having the same problem with their Compaq Presario M2000. I did managed to install all the drivers (including the graphic). The driver "Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controllers Driver" in the HP website... totally crap. What i did was i searched "82852" (yup... just 82852) in the Intel download center Drivers and Utilities , download and install the "Intel 82852/82855 Graphic Controller Family" driver... and everything was back to normal. I hope this works for u guys
